Description

Fuyang Metal manufactures stainless steel blind rivets for fastener distributors, wholesalers and industrial buyers. These open end blind rivets combine an SS304 or SS316 stainless steel body with a zinc plated carbon steel mandrel.

Also known as stainless steel body steel mandrel blind rivets, these fasteners can join two or more components when access is available from only one side of the workpiece. They are suitable for sheet metal, enclosures, ventilation systems, construction components and general industrial assembly.

SS304 and SS316 rivet bodies are available according to the required corrosion resistance. Different diameters, lengths, grip ranges, head styles and packaging options can be manufactured according to customer requirements.

Stainless Steel Body with Steel Mandrel

This blind rivet consists of a stainless steel tubular body and a carbon steel mandrel. During installation, the rivet tool pulls the mandrel through the rivet body, causing the blind end of the body to expand and clamp the joined materials together.

After the required setting force is reached, the mandrel breaks at its designed breaking point. This creates a permanent mechanical joint without requiring access to the back of the workpiece.

The stainless steel body provides better corrosion resistance than a conventional aluminum or plated carbon steel rivet body. The steel mandrel provides the strength required to deform and set the rivet during installation.

Available Stainless Steel Materials

SS304 Stainless Steel Blind Rivets

SS304 is the most commonly selected stainless steel body material for general industrial and outdoor applications. It provides good resistance to moisture, oxidation and many normal atmospheric conditions.

SS304 rivet bodies are suitable for sheet metal fabrication, equipment housings, ventilation systems, construction components and other applications requiring a balance of corrosion resistance and cost.

SS316 Stainless Steel Blind Rivets

SS316 provides increased resistance to chloride exposure and corrosive environments. It may be selected for coastal, marine, chemical-processing and high-humidity applications where additional corrosion resistance is required.

The suitability of the complete rivet should be evaluated according to the rivet body, steel mandrel, joined materials and actual service environment.

Dome Head and Large Flange Blind Rivets

Dome Head Blind Rivets

Dome head, also known as standard flange, is a widely used blind rivet head style. It provides a compact installed appearance and is suitable for many general sheet-metal and industrial fastening applications.

Large Flange Blind Rivets

A large flange head provides a wider bearing surface than a standard dome head. It helps distribute the clamping load across a larger area and may be suitable for thin sheet, soft materials, oversized holes and applications requiring greater head coverage.

The appropriate head diameter should be selected according to the workpiece material, hole diameter and required load distribution.

Features of Stainless Steel Blind Rivets

  • Stainless steel body provides reliable corrosion resistance.
  • Carbon steel mandrel supports effective rivet installation.
  • Components can be joined from only one accessible side.
  • No welding, tapping or access to the back is required.
  • Suitable for joining different sheet materials and components.
  • Dome head and large flange head options are available.
  • SS304 and SS316 rivet body materials are available.
  • Multiple diameters, lengths and grip ranges can be supplied.
  • Suitable for manual, pneumatic and cordless rivet tools.
  • Customized labels and export packaging are supported.

Applications of Stainless Steel Blind Rivets

  • Sheet metal fabrication
  • HVAC and ventilation systems
  • Electrical cabinets and enclosures
  • Metal roofing and wall cladding
  • Doors, windows and frames
  • Machinery and equipment assembly
  • Automotive and trailer components
  • Signs and display systems
  • Kitchen and food-service equipment
  • General construction and maintenance

How to Select Stainless Steel Blind Rivets

The correct blind rivet should be selected according to the hole diameter, total material thickness, required grip range, head style, joint strength and service environment.

The rivet length must provide sufficient body material to form the blind-side head. A rivet that is too short may not set correctly, while an excessively long rivet may produce an unstable or unsuitable joint.

When requesting a quotation, please provide the rivet diameter, body length, grip range, head diameter, body material, mandrel material and required quantity. A drawing, sample or existing specification can help us confirm the correct product.

Blind Rivet Installation Process

  1. Drill or prepare a hole of the specified diameter.
  2. Insert the rivet body through the aligned components.
  3. Place the mandrel into the nosepiece of the rivet tool.
  4. Operate the tool to pull the mandrel and expand the rivet body.
  5. Continue pulling until the mandrel breaks at the designed point.
  6. Inspect the installed head and blind-side formation.

Manufacturing and Quality Control

Our manufacturing process includes raw material inspection, body forming, mandrel production, surface treatment, assembly, dimensional inspection and final packaging.

Quality control can include rivet diameter and length inspection, head-diameter checking, grip-range verification, mandrel-break inspection, setting tests, tensile and shear performance tests, surface inspection and packaging inspection.

Inspection requirements and test reports can be arranged according to the order specification and customer requirements.

Custom Packaging and OEM Service

Stainless steel steel blind rivets can be packed in plastic bags, small boxes, bulk cartons, master cartons and export pallets. Packaging quantities can be selected according to rivet size and customer requirements.

We support private labels, customer logos, customized boxes, barcode labels, carton marks and pallet packaging for distributors and industrial buyers.
